At Woofhoof, we only use Positive Reward Reinforcement Training when working with our dogs. It’s humane and effective and focuses on rewarding your dog with food for desired behavior. Positive reinforcement strengthens the bond between you and your dog by building trust and creating a cooperative, enjoyable training experience. It avoids fear or punishment, instead it makes training fun and rewarding for both you and your pup.
In contrast, aversive “training” methods such as: prong collars, choke collars, and electric shock are not only inhumane but cause physical harm and emotional distress to your dog. These outdated techniques rely on fear and punishment, which leads to anxiety, aggression, and a breakdown in trust between you and your beloved pup.
